Position Overview
Pristine Academy is seeking a dynamic and passionate Middle & High School English Teacher to join our innovative teaching team. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to adolescent development, enthusiastic about Montessori-inspired practices, and skilled at using digital platforms such as Subject.com to guide students through rigorous, engaging, and creative learning experiences. This role will involve collaboration with co-teachers to design and implement cross-disciplinary and student-centered learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction for students in grades 7–12, aligned with Subject.com curriculum and Pristine Academy’s Montessori-inspired philosophy.
Collaborate with co-teacher to create an integrated, supportive, and engaging classroom environment. Support co-teacher in other subject areas.
Foster critical reading, analytical writing, and effective communication skills through literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary development.
Create a prepared learning environment that encourages student independence, curiosity, and collaboration.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and allow for individualized pacing in a co-teaching model.
Integrate technology, project-based learning, and cross-curricular connections into daily instruction.
Guide students in developing research, creative expression, and presentation skills.
Maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on student progress and growth.
Participate in professional development, reflective practice, and faculty meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification/licensure (or eligibility) preferred.
Experience teaching middle and/or high school English Language Arts.
Familiarity with Montessori education, mastery-based learning, or personalized learning models strongly preferred.
Ability to integrate digital tools and Subject.com curriculum into classroom practice.
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to student-centered education, lifelong learning, and holistic child development.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with Montessori adolescent programs or alternative education models.
Passion for guiding students through both classic literature and contemporary texts.
Creativity in designing student-led projects and interdisciplinary experiences.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
